Whether you're a seasoned gardener, a flower enthusiast, or simply looking for a delightful day out, the PYO flower farms in Devon and Cornwall offer a unique and delightful experience. Imagine wandering through vibrant fields, hand-picking your favourite blooms, and creating stunning bouquets to take home. Here are the best flower farms in Devon and Cornwall.
Amelia’s Flower Farm, Devon
Located in Combeinteignhead, Newton Abbot, Amelia’s Flower Farm is a family-run farm, café, nursery, and shop that is worth a visit. The flowers are grown in a field that’s free from pesticides and chemicals, so you know everything is natural.
They grow a large range of flowers, including thousands of heirloom, scented, and unusual varieties, all available for you to harvest and create your own bouquet. The Pick Your Own (PYO) flowers costs £24 to fill a bucket (which they provide you with, as well as the secateurs). They can sell you the bucket for £1 to bring your flowers home in, or you can bring your own bucket to transport them. You can also bring your four-legged friends as they’re dog friendly!
The Secret Garden
The Secret Garden is situated in Cullompton and is only open to PYO flowers on certain days, so make sure you check ahead of time and book a place, as you may be disappointed. They also hold ‘Cream Tea and Flower’ days, so you can make a day of it and enjoy a homemade Devonshire cream tea!
They also hold a range of other workshops, like flower farming and flower arranging. There’s even a pressed flower workshop which is a lovely way to make pretty, sustainable cards.
Strawberry Fields
Strawberry Fields has been all the rage recently on social media with their Tulip Fest! It’s a farm shop located in Lifton, which is well-known for pick your own fruit fields, but they also arrange various PYO flower events throughout the year.
In March, you can pick your own Daffodils, in April it was colourful Tulips. Next up is Pick Your Own Wildflowers, which will be in full bloom in in summer 2026! Wild flowers are available all through summer, and you can pick your own Sunflowers in late summer.
Strawberry Fields are also infamous for their Instagrammable sets around the fields, so it’s the perfect place to shoot some cute photos with the family.
The Cornish Flower Patch
Based just a five minute drive from Chiverton Cross, the Cornish Flower Patch is right in the heart of Cornwall and they’ve been growing flowers since 2016.
Offering varieties of flowers that you don’t see every day, you can pick your own flowers during peak summer and the early autumn seasons. This can be pre-booked through their online shop.
Getting married soon? The Cornish Flower Patch also arranges wedding flowers, whether it’s decorating the venue or making bouquets for yourself and your bridesmaids. You can’t pick them yourself, but if you’d like some seasonal and locally grown flowers, this is a great option.
Petalon Farm Day
Petalon Farm offers visits to their regenerative farm for £245, which includes a whole experience with a schedule.
The experience starts at 7am and ends around 15:30pm. You’ll start with a quick introduction and be shown how to cut the stems of certain flowers. Then you’ll be free to roam around the farm and cut as many flowers as you’d like to arrange later on in the day. You then get taken on a tour around the wooded areas of the farm which takes you to around lunch time where you get served a three-course meal outdoors.
After lunch, you get to choose a vase from their selection, and learn how to arrange your flowers.
