Half term activities for kids
With half term coming up soon, it can be stressful to think of things to do with the kids to keep them engaged while they're off school. We've rounded up a variety of activities to suit a range of budgets, to get out and about and keep the kids entertained!
Room on the Broom trail
Take a trip to Haldon Forest Park and embark on the Room on the Broom trail! The interactive family trail is packed with themed activities, forest facts, and hands-on fun. Help Witch find her lost items and collect the ingredients she needs to complete her spell! You can collect a Room on the Broom trail pack for £4 from the Information Pod which includes a colour-in Kraft bag, pencil, lanyard, stickers and spell cards, and craft card with pop-out star to make your own magic wand!

Paignton Zoo
On top of the abundance of animals, Paignton Zoo are inviting little explorers to ‘watch the wild bloom’ this half term. Say hello to the baby monkeys and wolf pups, let the kids go wild in Jungle Fun, and witness the transformation of the zoo!
National Marine Aquarium
The largest aquarium in the UK, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth is well worth the visit. Educational and engaging, you can’t go wrong with the aquarium. Set against the backdrop of the sea, you can see sharks, jellyfish, turtles, a variety of fish and more!

The Donkey Sanctuary
Visit The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, meet the donkeys, and take part in the Strawberry’s Hoofprint trail which is running until 29th March 2026. Adoption donkey Strawberry’s new trail is all about hoof health. Learn about how donkeys keep their feet health to answer the questions correctly and win a Donkey Sanctuary prize! All you need to do is pick up your trail sheet from the gift shop, this costs £5, and complete the trail to win your prize.
River Dart Country Park
Whether camping for a few nights or visiting for the day, River Dart Country Park never fails to disappoint. Set within 90 acres of woodland in Dartmoor National Park, River Dart is packed with activities. From the Pirate Ship in the lake to the Tree Trail Activity, the Mini Zip Wire to the Wooden Play Fort, there’s over 25 activities for the kids to get stuck in to.

Crealy Theme Park
With over 60 attractions, there’s something for everyone at Crealy Theme Park. There’s indoor play areas, outdoor fun, animals to visit, and Sooty Land, making it the perfect day out. But this February half-term there’s also a special family event: Bubble and Pop. From 14th – 21st February, you can watch a Taylor Swift live tribute and experience bubble magic with Believe a Bubble!
